ABOUT US

The Bridge Street Wedding Chapel LLC is located in what was once the First Congregational Church built in 1903 on the north shore of the Grand River in Grand Ledge, Michigan.  It is the second oldest church building in town.
Located across the river and within easy walking distance from the Grand Ledge Opera House, a popular wedding reception venue, it's easy to see why so many brides consider the Bridge Street Wedding Chapel a perfect location for their wedding.
This is also one of the reasons Grand Ledge is quickly becoming a destination wedding location for those who want a small town feel with classic elegance.
After a complete renovation in 2006 the chapel now combines the best of the original church building with the best of a new facility.  The original stained glass, organ pipes and woodwork give the chapel a warm and inviting church-like feel while the new bathrooms, bridal suite, grooms lounge, sound system, central air and heat and more give you the comfort of a new facility.  It's an atmosphere that simply can't be duplicated and is guaranteed to make your wedding day everything you imagined it would be.
Equally impressive is the attention you will receive from the owner/operators Chris and Gay Holmes.  They and their staff will make sure all your needs are met and because they have been in the wedding industry since 1980 they can easily and confidently help you plan your day at the chapel with no detail overlooked.
"Because we are owners and not just employees we are completely dedicated to you and your wedding plans", says Chris.  "When you own a facility such as this you simply want every experience to be 100% positive and that's what we strive for."

HOW IT ALL BEGAN:   As wedding photographers since 1980, Chris and Gay of Holmes Photography have photographed weddings in many churches and chapels throughout the United States, so they knew exactly what they wanted when they had the opportunity to create their own wedding chapel.

"We knew we wanted an elegant, warm and inviting chapel that focused on the comfort of the wedding party and their guests.  A place that no matter what angle you took a photograph from, you would have a gorgeous backdrop" said Chris.  "When we walked into the building for the first time and saw the incredibly beautiful stained glass windows and organ pipes we literally looked at each other and simultaneously said 'wedding chapel' Chris says with a laugh.  "We knew we'd found our chapel.  It was definitely a diamond in the rough, but we knew the building would be worth restoring and we were right."  Come see for yourself by calling or emailing to make an appointment.
